Hi there!

Like a lot of people, I've really been bitten by the DIY bug and a while ago built myself a bed from wooden pallets. A piece of cake even for inexperienced handymen, and the result is quite stunning! The one thing that bothered me about my bed though was that it didn't have a headboard that I could lean against. Being an experienced DIY enthusiast, I came up with a great idea: I'd create my own! I wanted it to be made of wood but wasn't confident about doing any carpentry work, so a quicker and easier solution had to be found.

In the end, I bought a chipboard panel the same width as my pallet bed. Then I ordered an inexpensive but striking photomural in shabby, real wood look on fototapete.de. I pasted the photomural to the board and then fixed the board to the head end of my pallet bed.

It took next to no time and the result really impressed me! My "new old" bed now looks great – and the photomural deceptively genuine!

Once the wallpaper sticks to the board after the recommended time, fix the board to the head end of the bed.
